Mediation
Divorce Mediation Lawyers in Winter Park and Orlando
A respectful and efficient settlement option for divorce and family law issues with or without attorneys.
Wendy and Brenda are both Florida Supreme Court certified family law mediators who bring deep experience and compassion to every family law case. We mediate attorney-assisted divorces where you and your attorneys participate in solving your family law issues. Brenda also handles mediations where clients proceed without lawyers to settle their own divorce out of court, a process we refer to as Pro Se Divorce Mediation. Mediation offers families an opportunity to resolve their matters privately, respectfully, and with greater control over the outcome. Whether represented by lawyers or not, the court system requires a good faith mediation attempt before setting a case for hearing or for trial.

Respectful communication – creative solutions.
Clients mediating with us are guided through settlement options and outcomes based on our decades of conflict resolution experience. Respectful communication opens the space for creative solutions tailored to your unique needs. As your mediator, we prepare prior to the mediation by reviewing the documents and legal pleadings that have been provided by your attorneys. We often have phone calls with the attorneys and any professionals involved in your case prior to mediation so that we can understand you and your family law issues so we can maximize the resolution time you have with us. Additionally, we can be flexible and can create more opportunities even after your mediation day to help you get to resolution.
Pro Se Mediation
A Private, Respectful, and Cost Effective Path Forward.
Families navigating separation or divorce often want a process that feels calmer, more dignified, and more affordable than other process options. Pro Se Mediation offers exactly that. At The Aikin Family Law Group, Brenda provides a neutral, supportive environment where both clients can work together to create practical solutions without bringing attorneys into the mediation room.
What is Pro Se Mediation?
“Pro Se” simply means you represent yourself. In this mediation model, you and your spouse meet directly with Brenda, who guides the conversation, helps clarify issues, and supports you in reaching agreements that reflect your family’s needs. Brenda does not take sides or advocate for either of you; instead, she educates and facilitates productive dialogue and helps you move toward resolution with clarity and respect. Additionally, the process is flexible and allows other professionals to be engaged such as a neutral financial professional to assist with the gathering of financial information and option building, or a child psychologist to assist in the development of a parenting plan unique to your family. Our collaborative resources allow us to provide the support you need.
Why families choose Pro Se Mediation
- More Affordable – Without attorney representation during sessions, families often save significantly on legal fees.
- Private and Confidential – Mediation conversations stay in the room, giving you space to speak openly.
- You Stay in Control and get to decide what works for your family.

- A Quicker Process that allows for easier scheduling, timely response, and efficiency. Many families have successfully concluded in 3 to 5 mediation sessions.
