Child Support
Supporting your children.
Children have the right to be supported by their parents, emotionally, and monetarily. In the state of Florida, child support is governed by a statutory formula which takes into consideration: the number of children, the net income of the parents, healthcare costs, child care costs, and school tuition. The number of overnights the children spend with each parent also affects the support calculation. There are also many issues that may need to be addressed in regard to child support including special needs and deviations from the child support formula.
